About

I am currently working full time as a developer for a company in Sheffield, while living in Cawood, a small village near York in North Yorkshire. Currently day-to-day life mostly includes hacking in Bash, Python, PHP and a bit of C# while at work and a few other projects in my spare time. Occasionally a bit of freelance web/application development too.

I’m a free software advocate and GNU/Linux user, my current distribution of choice is Debian. I’m also root on a couple of Solaris and FreeBSD boxes and commend Ubuntu for it’s excellent work in bringing GNU/Linux to the desktop.

Outside computing I enjoy lots of music, playing bass, guitar and trumpet, the odd computer game (ok, so that’s not strictly outside computing), classic minis and a pint or two. I’m currently in the process of restoring a ‘94 Rover Mini Cooper.
